Nail guns can be very handy when needed and used properly. However, they can also be dangerous. So dangerous, in fact, that the 12,000 ER visits caused by nail guns in 1995 increased almost four times to 42,000 in 2005. That's a lot of injuries, some of which resulted in death. To help reduce this number, the National Association of Home Builders has released a safety card which is available online. They urge anyone using a nail gun to make sure they know how the nail gun works, which of the two types of triggers it uses, and always take all necessary safety precautions.
