With hurricane season quickly approaching, the Red Cross has released a free app for iOS and Android that anyone in hurricane danger zones, or even friends and family of those, may want to get.
The app provides how-to's and guides on how to prepare for and evacuate from hurricanes, as well as maps to storm shelters. The app also has various useful tools such as a flashlight and social media integration, allowing the user to post generic "I'm safe" messages to their social media accounts.
The app is not only for those directly affected by hurricanes, either. The app has the ability to monitor weather and hurricane statuses in different locations, so a user can enter a friend's or family's address and the app will monitor the weather there, so the user can keep an eye on his or her loved ones.
