It's times like these that really serve as a reminder that there are consequences for actions and that, above all, safety should always be a concern. In case you missed it, the Costa Concordia, a cruise ship, wrecked recently when the ship was sailed too close to shore, hit a rock, and damaged the hull, ending in the death of over 10 people (at the current count).
The captain is being blamed and has been arrested, allegedly due to unsafe actions and navigation leading to this scenario. This is a frightening story because of how bad the situation is and how much worse it could have been, all (allegedly) because of the lapse in judgement and safety of one man (and likely his crew, to some extent, though I make no claims of knowing for certain who is to blame). While I am thankful that it wasn't worse, this situation could have been avoided if safety protocols had been followed properly.
I highly encourage our readers to look into this story. I will link to a TIME article below, but with news stories like this its usually best to get information from other sources as well to ensure you're getting correct information, especially with stories concerning allegations against others (in this case, the captain).
