Black Friday is coming up, and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) wants you to know that toys are more safe this year than in the recent past.

Thanks to more strict rules and regulations that are now mandatory instead of voluntary, toy manufacturers are releasing toys that are more safe for children. The number of safety recalls for children's toys has dropped each year since 2008. This does not negate the need for parents and other folks purchasing toys for children to be any less vigilant in ensuring that the toys they pick out as gifts are safe and appropriate for the intended recipient. However, certain concerns, such as lead content within toys, can be put to rest more so this year than in the past due because of this increase in toy manufacturing safety.
