Message from the Chairman

Welcome to the Region VI VPPPA Website.  I’m happy that you’re here and hope you find what you are looking for.  We spend a great deal of time an effort to keep our website current, but if you have some questions, feel free to contact us.  The practices and philosophies of OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program lay the infrastructure for the best safety management system and, when followed, yield the best results of any system I’m aware of.  To go along with these practices and philosophies, the VPP Participants Association creates another venue for you to connect with others in your industry.  You can communicate and network with worksites within Region VI and around the country through the events, communications network, and conferences coordinated by the Region VI VPP Participants Association.

In today’s economy, most worksites are struggling.  This may lead to priority shuffling and that is ok as  our worksites and companies must remain solvent.  However, there is an alarming trend to “de-prioritize” safety in the name of saving money.  My friends, let me tell you that there is no better time than right now to apply more emphasis to safety.  From a purely financial aspect, the company’s “bottom line” suffers when an employee is off the job due to a mishap that occurred at work.  From a moral standpoint, we do not want to see our friends and co-workers hurt on the job, or off the job either.  So in order to add to the “bottom line” of your company and to the safety of the employees at your worksite, become a safety leader and emphasize safety at every opportunity.   Being a member of the VPP Participants association can emphasize and magnify your contributions to this effort.

I hope to choose to join, or remain a member of the VPP Participants Association.  Take the time to investigate our website and make sure to contact the VPP Participants Association to join or remain active.

Thanks, have a great and safe day.
